HANGING WITH BROBEE AND MORE

hi.  sitting here in gilford, NH. never been before, which is rare for me as someone who has been on the road since the invention of the microwave. it's nice here. feels like burlington vermont's weird sister. and thats a mouth full if you ever been to burlington - which is where my family is from. yay. love it. ok

we are currently on tour with yo gabba gabba. it is one of the most exciting and different experiences we've ever had. i feel very honored to be able to do stuff like this. seems like steel train gets a lot of opportunities to do really fulfilling things outside of the normal shows and record making. (ie - converse band of ballers).. and this yo gabba tour is so over-the-top exciting. we wrote a song for the show called "it's fun to dance" (which you can stream a video of here). want to quickly say how wonderful the people on this tour are, and how wonderful the crowds have been. WONDERFUL. so much positivity all around. and yes, my favorite really is brobee. i scored myself a brobee backpack and have big plans to debut it on daniels photo blog soon....

hey! please check out this wonderful project http://embodimentusa.wordpress.com/
i TRULY believe in what they are doing. seems to be the best way to create a real change-- educating people through other people's experiences. its smart, forward and political without an ounce of anger. please watch the video on their site. i'm sure you'll be just as moved as i was. and also - please support them in any way that you can.

video news:::: beep beep beep::: have you seen our new video/MOVIE for turnpike ghost. if you answered yes,, then what do you think of it?? if you answered no,, then what are you waiting for! it premiered at spinner. check it out here! we'll be posting it on the site and youtube soon so you can plaster it everywhere, but for now check it out at spinner.

now it's time for the "odd story" portion of the blog - last night we saw a man drive into the parking lot of our hotel and stumble out of his car completely hammered. it was scary. i didn't really know what to do, so i kinda half-assed verbally berated him..."are you fucking drunk?" - me.  I should have just performed a citizens arrest (is that even a real thing?). after the mildly traumatic experience, we retired to our rooms where daniel and i watched "the jonses." we discussed how david duchovny's role in californication coupled with his real life sex addiction makes him a little hard to watch as any other character. makes sense if you think about it. my favorite actors are anonymous to me - example: marion cottilard.
the night concluded with some good news regarding the success of our amazon daily deal thing. thanks to everyone who bought the record and told their friends. your support continues to be overwhelming. we were the #1 selling record on there for bit, and excitement raged through our camp. you can still get the record on there for $5, which is pretty awesome. so please continue to tell you friends and enemies alike. it comes with exciting bonus tracks from our favorite tour! click here for it.

lastly - im getting eaten alive out here by mosquitos. i recognize that it is in part because of the fruit and brown sugar based bath products i use, but come on, its getting ridiculous. so hard to sleep, so hard to function. its itches. i'm ready for fall. you know, comforting darkness of fall.

ok - talk soon. 3 more shows with yo gabba gabba, then on to FL for some dates, some in-stores, etc. and then a masssssssiivvvvveee US tour with fun. + jarrod gorbel. all of the dates for that tour are finally posted, so check them out. also - we will be announcing quite a few acoustic / all request in stores throughout that tour, so look out for that. and plenty of other things.

love-jack
