record front to back, Q & A / request set, manchester orchestra dates, does anyone like the wire?

HI! jack here. writing you all from LA. its been somewhat of a crazy week of travel/birhday. 6 days ago i was here in LA working on new music... then i flew home, drove up to montreal, celebrated my birthday, went to vermont, hung out with my grandmother, drove back home, celebrated my birthday again with a different but just as fascinating group of people, played a show in new jersey, flew back to LA, ate dinner at los burritos, went to bed. one major plus of all this is the amount of travel time is that i got to listen to new records and start watching the wire. HA!

the bullet video!

videos are weird. it's hard to capture the true meaning/feeling of the song, so usually it's best to resort to something bizarre or humorous. with 'bullet', we figured it would be worth risking possibly cheesy-ness to try and re-create the very feeling that inspires the song .... which is..... our youth in new jersey.

2010 Recap Blog... Like, Literally

2010 was the best year steel train has ever had. it was also one of the best years of my life, and i'm pretty sure the other guys would say the same. let's see - we released a record that took everything in us to make, did the best tours we've ever done, actually executed all of the projects that we had dreamed of doing in the past but never pulled the trigger on, and lastly, it was a year that we met some of the most inspiring and wonderful people imaginable.

it's hard to move forward without looking back at this year. so, here goes. ...

7" OF THE MONTH CLUB - A NOTE FROM JACK

first off, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelmingly amazing reaction to our "7-inch of the month club". when this idea came up, there were so many questions... so much goes into a project like this, and we all pushed so hard to make this happen. we are so proud to have the kind of fans that get behind something like this. seriously, steel train fans are people I am extremely proud to know. you guys continuously inspire us to push further and further with new artistic endeavors.

jet lag / the value of recorded music / act like a teen listening to music in bed

it's 5:30am. I'm in bed in nottingham england. extremely jet lagged.

jet lag is very real.

I feel like writing to everyone right now based on circumstances. so much has happened, and I feel that the past month I've been a robot workaholic. this happens on tour, it's not a bad thing. it's a mechanism.

recent happenings / the universe is expanding / steeltrainfuntour / etc

hi.

jack here. just got finished with a coughing fit and have now gathered the courage to write an update. I'm in bed (as I usually am when we speak) in bellingham, WA. bellingham is the 'place to drop your merchandise and illegal items before entering canada" capital of america. the hotel industry thrives off of it here. plus... it looks like the set of twilight. ... ... so, there's that.

HANGING WITH BROBEE AND MORE
